Not much has changed over the last 35 years. The lamps are protected by quartz sleeves and put directly into the effluent. It is a great packaged solution for many projects.

Pre-fabricated stainless steel disinfection channels with transitions mount easily into most treatment plant configurations. Redundancy can be done In Series (IS), Parallel (PC) or in a "U-Turn" configuration.
Systems are available with remote electronics, monitoring and provide UV output in mWs or %. A sensor looks at a single UV lamp and provides feedback. Sensors and the UV modules need to be cleaned as debris and other impurities often foul and cause alarms.
